Autum Purple Ash

Once the central leader of American Ash has been removed, it is nearly impossible to replace without a sever dogleg. 

So don’t top this tree!

As a young tree, Autumn Purple seems rather open, but the head will fill in by the time caliper reaches 2”.

Ash Aphid can be a problem, but not nearly as bad as with the Green Ash.

Otherwise, this is an impressive tree.

In Idaho the fall color is as you see it.

Not purple so much as Crimson or Fire Brick, perhaps even a deep Pink. 

Not to worry.

An Autumn Purple by any other name is still an Autumn Purple, and is still a stately tree.
