Linden Greenspire

This is the most popular cultivar of T. cordata on the market, but some of the newer introductions are coming on.

Greenspire is still a very good tree.

Its dense canopy produces deep shade.

When in bloom, the sweet aroma engulfs the area and can be noticed a good distance down wind.

As a young tree it tends to put out scaffolding branches that are very narrow to the tree.

You must be on guard to remove these in favor or more widely angled limbs.

It also tends toward a double leader, so you will have to be watchful.

Grows to 40 ft high and 30 ft wide

Growth rate: Moderate
